Swedish regulator Spelinspektionen (formerly Lotteriinspektionen) has imposed sanctions on Genesis Global and Paf for self-exclusion failings.
Genesis has received an official warning and a fine of SEK 4m ($430,000), while Paf has been fined SEK 100,000.
The sanctions relate to the companies’ failure to join mandatory self-exclusion register Spelpaus.se.
As a result of them not joining, customers were able to play on Genesis and Paf sites, despite having self-excluded.
Paf recently spoke exclusively to Gambling Insider about its loss limit responsible gambling strategy.
The operator has publicised a breakdown of how much revenue it makes from different player segments, urging others to follow suit and become more transparent.
In this instance, however, Paf has fallen short of the regulatory standards required.
